Product description:
Glutathione (GSH) is a tripeptide that combines glutamic acid, cysteine, and glycine and contains thiol groups. It has antioxidant and integrated detoxification effects. The thiol group on cysteine is the active group of glutathione (hence glutathione is often abbreviated as G-SH), which is prone to binding with certain drugs (such as acetaminophen), toxins (such as free radicals, iodoacetic acid, mustard gas, heavy metals such as lead, mercury, and arsenic), and has an integrated detoxification effect. Therefore, glutathione (especially glutathione in liver cells) can participate in biological transformation, thereby transforming harmful toxins in the body into harmless substances and excreting them out of the body. Glutathione can also help maintain normal immune system function.

Application:
[In Medcine Field]
Glutathione drugs are widely used in clinical practice. In addition to using their thiol groups to chelate heavy metals, fluoride, mustard gas and other toxins for poisoning, they are also used as therapeutic or adjuvant drugs for hepatitis, hemolytic diseases, as well as keratitis, cataracts, and retinal diseases. In recent years, Western scientists, especially Japanese scholars found that glutathione has the function of inhibiting HIV.
[In Food Field]
1. Adding it to flour products can have a reducing effect. Not only does it shorten the time for making bread by half or one-third of the original, greatly improve labor conditions, but it also plays a role in enhancing food nutrition and other functions.
2. Adding it to yogurt and infant food is equivalent to vitamin C and can serve as a stabilizer.
3. Mixing it into the fish cake can prevent the color from deepening.
4. Added to food products such as meat and cheese, it has the effect of enhancing flavor.
[In the field of antioxidants]
Glutathione, as an important antioxidant in the body, can eliminate free radicals in the body; Due to its susceptibility to oxidation by certain substances, GSH can protect the thiol groups in many proteins and enzymes in the body from being oxidized by harmful substances, thus ensuring the normal physiological function of proteins and enzymes; There is a high content of glutathione in human red blood cells, which is of great significance in protecting the thiol groups of proteins on the red blood cell membrane from being reduced and preventing hemolysis.
Function:
1. Detoxification: Combining with toxins or drugs to eliminate their toxic effects
2. Participate in redox reactions: As an important reducing agent, participate in various redox reactions in the body
3. Protecting the activity of sulfhydryl enzymes: keeping the active group SH of sulfhydryl enzymes in a reducing state
4. Maintaining the stability of red blood cell membrane structure: eliminating the destructive effect of oxidants on red blood cell membrane structure
