Application:
Apigenin is widely used in cosmetics: its absorption of ultraviolet rays is concentrated in the B region (wavelength between 280~320nm), which is strong absorption and can be used in sunscreen cosmetics;
However, in Zone A (with wavelengths between 320 and 400nm), the absorption is relatively small, so low concentrations of apigenin can be used as a skin darkening agent and added to tanning oil;
Can be used as a pigment stabilizer in cosmetics, with a recommended dosage of 1%; Apigenin can be used in cream;
It can be compounded with vitamins B1, B6, B12, and C; It can also be mixed with plant essential oils such as chrysanthemum oil, calendula oil, almond oil, etc;
High concentration of apigenin can inhibit the activity of melanocytes, and can be added to sunscreen, face cream, essence, lotion, facial mask and other cosmetics; Can be used in shampoo and conditioner.
Function:
Apigenin is also a very effective anticancer compound. It has high selectivity towards cancer cells and can selectively induce cancer cell apoptosis without damaging normal cells. It also has a very high safety threshold and can obtain active (anticancer) doses by consuming a diet rich in vegetables and fruits. Celery has a beneficial effect on most types of cancer.
Apigenin can exert neuroprotective effects, combat excitatory toxicity, and prevent calcium accumulation in nerve mitochondria. Apigenin and two kinds of glucopyranoside of apigenin can play an anti diabetes role in vivo.
Apigenin is one of the known biological flavonoids that has high selectivity in inducing selective apoptosis of cancer cells in vivo.
Like other biological flavonoids, apigenin can reduce oxidative stress, induce cell cycle inhibition, increase the efficacy of liver detoxification enzymes, and to some extent, have anti-inflammatory effects.
